Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is a busy Trust covering a population of approximately 521,000, and comprises two main hospital sites, Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital which are well-equipped modern hospitals with excellent facilities.
Royal Blackburn is the main acute hospital for East Lancashire and has a very busy and diverse General Paediatric service. There are 50 Paediatric Inpatient beds, 3 HDU beds and 15 Observation and Assessment beds in Blackburn. You will join the 1 in 13 full shift rota which is EWTD compliant and is equivalent to a 1A (50%) banding.
There is a Children’s Day Unit and a small Children’s Minor Illness Unit open early until late in Burnley and a large Level 3 Neonatal Unit in Burnley (staffed separately).
We are seeking 2 Senior Clinical Fellows to join a team of 13 enthusiastic StRs and Senior Clinical Fellows to support our active postgraduate training programme. The successful applicants will be actively encouraged to participate in our teaching sessions and have access to our training opportunities.
This is the perfect opportunity for doctors preparing for postgraduate examinations or to gain experience in the UK in a busy district general hospital with access to a wide case mix. We have an excellent track record of supporting doctors to join a run-through training programme and also welcome applications from candidates who have gained MRCPCH.
This is a full time position for a period of 12 months initially however this is likely to be extended. If you wish to take this excellent opportunity apply now.
