As part of the continued development of the Quality and Safety agenda within Family Care Division an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality and Safety Facilitator for Maternity and Neonatal Services.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with a proven clinical background to support the Clinical Teams, the Matrons and Quality and Safety Team to ensure that quality and patient safety is improved and monitored.

This role is pivotal to the Division and the successful candidate will have the responsibility for co-ordinating, monitoring and developing quality and safety systems within Maternity and Neonatal Services, working to promote a culture of risk management awareness. The successful candidate will work with the wider team to build on and embed current processes ensuring there is rapid learning and feedback to staff when incidents occur. They will need to have a clear knowledge and understanding of Human Factors and work alongside the Clinical Teams in all areas to develop / implement systems and processes to reduce future risks.
They will be responsible for assisting with the achievement of CQC standards. In addition the post-holder will focus on the promotion of learning from adverse and positive outcomes in relation to maternal and neonatal health.

The post holder will deputise for the Divisional Quality and Safety Lead.

As this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and involves work that is identified as a regulated activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.
The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
