B24 is a 23 bedded orthopaedic ward, which specialises in orthopaedic trauma. B24 is a very fast pace ward to work on, If you enjoy being busy and working at a fast pace then this is the job for you. The ward cares for patient’s pre and post trauma surgery.
An exciting opportunity to be part of the team on B24 as a Band 5 Registered nurse has become available. This post covers both days and nights on rotation, with options to spend time in other areas, theatre, elective ward fracture clinic’s hip fracture ward.
As registered nurse you will be responsible for a group of patients are admitted from emergency department urgent care centre, fracture clinics, or from home, with a wide aray of injuries. You will be responsible for admitting and discharge planning, ensuring all patients receive safe personal effective care throughout their hospital stay.
The candidate needs to be highly motivated and enthusiastic as a team member, maintaining high standards of professional conduct.
As Band 5 nurse you need to have good communication skills both written and verbally. Liaising with the multidisciplinary team and relatives. Be able to administer drugs and treatments as prescribed with safety, accuracy and intelligence. To maintain and accurately monitor patients clinical observations of a patient’s condition pre and post operatively.
Need to be well organised, be able to prioritise nursing care on very busy ward environment. At times will need to coordinate the ward in the absence of Senior nurse.

As this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and involves work that is identified as a regulated activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.
The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.
In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
