At East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust our vision is to be widely recognised for providing safe, personal and effective care.  We currently provide high quality services and treat over 600,000 people across East Lancashire and the surrounding area. We employ over 7,000 staff, many of whom are internationally renowned and have won awards for their work.

East Lancashire Healthcare Trust is looking to appoint band 5 registered nurses who have a keen interest in patients with respiratory conditions on the respiratory wards at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Currently there are three respiratory wards all specialising in the care of patients with acute and chronic lung disease and one offering ward level care to patients who require non-invasive ventilation for type 2 respiratory failure.

Each ward has a team of dedicated nurses who provide safe personal and effective care to all patients.

Your role would include assessment, planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of nursing care in the ward environment. You will be responsible for caring for a group of patients under the direction of the senior nurse in charge. There will be opportunities to undertake link nurse and mentoring opportunities as the wards offer placement opportunities for nursing students.

We are looking for individuals with initiative and good communication skills who are flexible, innovative and dynamic in outlook with a keen sense of team-working and willingness to learn. The ability to work a variety of shift patterns including weekends and night duty is essential.

If you would like to be part of one of these dedicated teams of nurses working in a supportive environment which is innovative and forward thinking then this role is for you.

Vacancies are available at Ward C6 and C8
