Consultant in Histopathology
We are inviting applications for the post of a Consultant in Histopathology based at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. The Trust is a Cancer Unit providing diagnosis and treatment for Head and Neck, Urology, Breast, Colorectal, Skin and Hepato-biliary cancers. Ours is a diagnostic unit for upper GI and respiratory cancers and is also a unit for bowel cancer screening.
The Department has developed sub specialist interest related to cancer services and the candidate will be expected to develop areas of special interest to complement those already in place.

You will join a team of 10.8WTE in this well-equipped and friendly department participating in diagnostic histopathology and non-gynae cytology reporting. Cellular Pathology is a forward thinking Department with a number of planned developments to meet national cancer targets. The Department is UKAS Accredited. Participation in training of Histopathology STs is expected.

It is essential that you are in possession of FRCpath (or equivalent) and be on the specialist GMC register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
