Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team on C9 at Royal Blackburn Hospital as a Band 4 Nurse Associate. Part of East Lancashire Hospitals Trust.

Sitting within the Directorate of Medicine and Emergency Care, C9 is a medical ward which  is part of the Medicine for Older People department.  The ward prides itself on the holistic care provided to patients, the empathic way in which relatives are treated, and the safe and effective discharge planning put in place for all patients once deemed medically and therapy optimised. 

The successful candidates will demonstrate the Trust’s values at all times ensuring the provision of quality nursing care. They must have the initiative to adapt to the changing demands of the service and be able to contribute to the development of service provision. Ability to cover the department and provide reasonable flexibility in terms of hours worked, including varying shift patterns across days and nights will be expected.

Main duties of the job

To deliver SAFE, PERSONAL and EFFECTIVE patient care on a daily basis. You should be an expert in all areas of nursing care from patient’s admission to discharge, which facilitates clinical practice development. 

 

C9 embraces a multi-disciplinary approach between hospital physiotherapy/occupational therapists and the community teams with nursing and therapy staff working closely together to provide a high standard of safe, personal and effective care whilst actively promoting a return to independent living where possible.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

5. Act as role model for others acting with probity and personal integrity in all aspects of practice, be truthful and admit to learn from errors.
6.  Maintain active status on NMC register
7. Act always in accordance with the NMC code of conduct and guiding 
document.

8. Deliver holistic, person centred nursing care
9. Actively engage with individuals, their families and/or carers and contribute to  care planning, by establishing their needs, wishes, preferences and choices and incorporating these into care planning
10 Ensure the rights of individuals are up held and facilitate the resolution of any conflict arising
