We have a vacancy for three Senior Clinical Fellow's in Cardiology. The post is on a 12 month fixed-term basis, potentially extendable. It is ideal for trainees requiring a period of cardiology exposure before commencing a full training program or for those desiring more advanced cardiology experience in a highly reputed and nationally recognised department.
The Department of Cardiology currently has 8 Consultant Cardiologists. Their skills are complimentary and the Cardiologists take part in a separate Consultant on-call rota. There are well developed services including percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac catheterisation, permanent pacing, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, standard and advanced echocardiography as well as a wide range of other diagnostic tests. There is a state of the art 10 bedded CCU, 26 bedded Cardiology Ward and a Cath Lab Day Unit.
The successful candidate's will be expected to, amongst other duties, undertake diagnosis, assessment and management of patients under the care of the supervising Consultants and keep up to date with correspondence and provide effective communication with GPs and other healthcare professionals. There is no commitment to the General Medicine on call rota but interested candidates can participate in the weekend medical on call rota should they wish to do so. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to train in both non-invasive and invasive cardiology.
