Job overview
The Maternity services at East Lancashire Hospitals Teaching Hospital (ELHT) offer a wide range of birth choices for pregnancy and birth throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. Maternity services comprises of three successful birth centres and a home birth service for women receiving universal care and the central birth suite for women who require additional care. All the birth settings offer excellent facilities.
We require experienced and newly qualified midwives to work in the midwifery teams in both the hospital and the community settings. We take great pride in the excellent preceptorship package which we offer to our newly qualified midwives and the bespoke induction packages that we offer to already qualified midwives joining the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The Post holder will be a midwife practising autonomously to attend women during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. The potholder will be primary care provider and will work as member of teams providing maternity care to women within the hospital and community settings. The post holder will work within the framework of the NMC rules and Standards with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust protocols and guidelines.
