East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust Urology Investigations Unit provides diagnostic and clinical support services to the local population, across two main sites which are Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital

A vacancy has arisen for a registered nurse to work across sites within these units.

Duties will include Assisting Doctors and Specialist Nurses in, clinics, performing flow rates and bladder scanning, assisting with flexible cystoscopies, prostate biopsies, counselling, urodynamics, trial without catheter, catheterisation, male and female and aftercare of procedures. Providing mentorship and training to junior members of staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an exceptional team of motivated, forward thinking and enthusiastic outpatient  Urology nurses, working across both Burnley and Blackburn sites.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills who can work well as part of a team. The role requires a weekday pattern Monday to Friday with flexibility in terms of hours and days worked as per service need.

As this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and involves work that is identified as a regulated activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied.  Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.  However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks.
