Lower Limb Vascular Sister -

Do you have an interest in managing patients who have problems of the Lower Limb? If so, this job could be for you!

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small community team working as a Community Lower Limb Vascular Sister. The service has a huge remit and we are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, registered professional to be part of it.

You must be able to work in partnership with the Lower Limb Vascular Service and Secondary Care to provide a patient centred service in the management of patients with lower limb vascular needs; in particular, patients with peripheral vascular and venous disease; utilizing preventative diagnostic skills in the aim of maintaining care closer to home. You will need to have an understanding of the national and local health care agenda and should be able to provide clinical leadership that will drive and support the modernisation of services in line with local and national priorities for community care.

You must have the ability and desire to participate in the delivery of education, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to link theory to practice using a critically enquiring approach. In addition, your remit will be to develop others skills and competencies, facilitate community leg cafés and vascular clinics, demonstrating outcome measures and the benefits of delivering care closer to home.

As this is a specialised area of nursing, a genuine interest and experience of working with patients with lower limb needs is essential. Working across care settings you must be diplomatic and be able to demonstrate that you have achieved the application criteria outlined in the person specification.

As this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and involves work that is identified as a regulated activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied.  Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.  By applying for this vacancy you are agreeing to this undertaking in the event you are successfully appointed.
